Small selection of places to eat whilst off the site (too many to list them all):

  • The Sloop Inn:  A carvery overlooking Wooton Estuary.  They do various daily food deals, also sell fish & chips, burgers and are well known for the pizzas they serve!  They have a bar and toilets inside with plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating.  Small car park on site, you have to add registration details to computer inside the pub for free parking.  Owned by the same company who own Toby Carvery & the Harvester chain (amongst others).  Can order & pay via the Stonehouse carvery app if required.  Address: Mill Square, Wooton, Ryde, PO33 4HS (not far from Fishbourne Terminal, and you have to pass it to get to our caravan).

  • The Blacksmiths Pub & Restaurant:  Located a few minutes’ drive from this site and with stunning views, this traditional pub is over 400 years old!  Standard pub menu.  Toilets and free parking on site.  Address: Calbourne Road, Newport, PO30 5SS.

  • Ryde Castle Hotel:  Overlooking Ryde seafront, this is a pub with a separate eating room for a quieter time.  Standard pub menu.  Toilets and free very small car park, Wi-Fi and beer garden.  Can order & pay via the Greene King app if required.  Address: Esplanade, Ryde, PO33 1JA.

  • Pizza Hut: Based in the complex in Newport is a typical Pizza Hut restaurant with various offers.  Wi-fi, toilets and paid parking on site.  Fully accessible.  Collection available.  Address: Multiplex building, Furrlongs, Newport, PO30 2TA.

  • Stotesbury Fish & Chip Shop: The Islands oldest fish & chip shop.  Delicious food at reasonable prices.  It does get incredibly busy during peak periods but worth the wait.  43 St. James Street, Newport, PO30 1LG.

  • The Chequers Inn: Found in Rookley with wonderful hillside views.  Typical pub menu.  Plenty of seating inside as well as outside and there is a playground outside for the little ones to enjoy.  Toilets and free car park.  Address: Niton Road, Rookley, PO38 3NJ.

  • The Dairyman’s Daughter:  Located in Arreton Barns is this traditional pub at the heart of an ancient village.  The Dairyman’s Daughter is named after Elizabeth Wallbridge, a local girl who died in 1801 and was made famous by the contemporary book ‘Annals of the Poor’. She’s buried in the village churchyard alongside a 12th Century church, village green and duck pond.  Toilets and free parking on site.  Address:  Arreton Barns, Main Road, Arreton, PO30 3AA.
